Senior Engineer – Viewpoint & SQL

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a developer with the ability to work with ViewPoint and associated business systems, providing application ownership, SQL Server development, reporting, integrations, and operational support for business-critical platforms.Job ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIESConfigure, maintain and support ViewPoint, including security, reporting and data management.Troubleshoot application, configuration and data-related issues and support upgrades and releases.Design, develop and maintain SQL Server database solutions including T-SQL, stored procedures, views and functions.Optimise database performance and resolve data integrity and reconciliation issues.Produce and support operational and management reporting solutions.Support integrations between ViewPoint and other enterprise systems.Develop and maintain automation, data movement and integration solutions.Participate in Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management processes.Core Technical CompetenciesViewPoint Administration & SupportMicrosoft SQL Server DevelopmentDatabase Design & Performance OptimisationSystems Integration & AutomationEssential ExperienceSignificant experience supporting and administering enterprise business applications.Strong SQL Server development experience including T-SQL, stored procedures, views and functions.Experience designing, supporting and optimising SQL databases.Experience supporting business-critical reporting and data solutions.Experience troubleshooting complex application, database and integration issues.Desirable ExperienceViewPoint experience.C# / .NET development and PowerShellAzure data and integration technologies (Azure SQL, Data Factory, Logic Apps).API integrations, ETL tools and automation technologies.Experience within legal, professional services or financial services environments.QualificationsEssential: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.Essential: Demonstrable experience supporting enterprise systems and SQL Server solutions.Desirable: Microsoft SQL or Azure certifications.Desirable: ITIL Foundation certification.Desirable: ViewPoint-specific training or certification.Desirable: Agile / Scrum training.PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTESStrong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, diagnose root causes, and implement effective technical solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.Able to work with various teams across the globe.Reliability and attention to detail.
